Danesmoor’s location offers wonderful training facilities.
Danesmoor Sport Horses’ location offers wonderful facilities for the training of all types of horses. We have a fabulous 50m x 33m indoor school and a grass arena, including a variety of show jumps and simulated cross country fences, which enables all year round training and gives the horses different environments to work in. We also have access to a horse walker, and the luxury of two all-weather gallops, combined with a wealth of off-road hacking through the historic Edgcote estate.
13 indoor stables
We have 13 well-ventilated Claydon internal stables, with a hot horse shower, tack room and storage areas all under the same roof. A number of small day paddocks are complemented by larger fields equipped with field shelters to provide some well-deserved downtime for our horses.
The Danesmoor team uses a range of advanced technologies to keep their horses fit and well, including ICE-VIBE boots, a Photizo light therapy system, and an Activo Med Combi Pro rug and boots to ensure that the horses are warmed by pulse magnetic therapy before and after work.
Excellent Support Team
We work closely with our vet, and our farrier Carl Wain visits the yard weekly, responding to the age-old adage “no foot, no horse”. An equine osteopath also visits monthly to ensure that the horses are physically comfortable, helping to keep them at the top of their game.
Close to Competitions
Edgcote is ideally situated on the Northamptonshire/Oxfordshire border with fantastic connections, being just 10 minutes from the M40. We are also a stone’s throw from the excellent facilities at Aston Le Walls, and there are many other competition venues and training centres within an hour’s journey. We are also in the heart of the hunting country, being on the borders of the BHWC, Grafton, Pytchley & Warwickshire.
The estate boasts 2 lovely all weather gallops. The first is a mile oval gallop with a rubber and sand mix. The 5 1/2 furlong hill gallop has recently been resurfaced with Safetrack by Andrews Bowen. Both are available for hire.
